Our cotton bag production serves the widest buyer base of any natural-fiber category — from luxury brand packaging to supermarket plastic-bag replacement.

Cotton encompasses the widest range of weaves, weights, and applications of any natural fiber — from 2oz muslin to 18oz canvas. Five advantages make cotton the default choice for brands that need natural, sustainable, and premium-feeling bags.

Cotton bags are the global standard for replacing single-use plastic bags. Government bans in the EU, UK, Australia, India, and dozens of other markets have created massive mandatory demand for cotton alternatives.

Cotton drawstring bags, muslin pouches, and dust bags are the #1 packaging material for luxury goods, jewelry, cosmetics, and artisan products. Cotton’s tactile quality communicates “premium” in ways polybags never can.

Organic cotton (GOTS-certifiable) is the most recognized eco-textile certification globally. For brands needing verified sustainability, organic cotton is the go-to fiber — above recycled polyester, hemp, or bamboo in consumer trust.

Unlike nylon, polyester, and non-woven PP, untreated cotton biodegrades naturally. Not just “recyclable” — fully compostable. A genuine end-of-life environmental advantage that eco-conscious brands use as a core selling point.
Cotton covers the full spectrum from ultra-light muslin packaging to heavy cotton canvas carry bags. Here are the eight most ordered cotton bag products — spanning carry bags, packaging, and accessories.

The #1 cotton bag format. 4oz–12oz cotton, open-top or zip-top, self-fabric or webbing handles. Screen-printed, embroidered, or digital-printed. For eco retail, promotional, and Amazon. See also: canvas totes for 10oz+.

Ultra-light muslin (2–3oz) drawstring pouch for jewelry, candles, soaps, cosmetics, and artisan products. Single or double drawstring. Screen-printed or stamped. The luxury packaging staple — lowest cost per unit of any premium bag.

5oz–8oz cotton drawstring backpack with shoulder cords. Screen-printed. The eco alternative to polyester drawstring gym sacks. For promotions, events, schools, and Amazon.

Small cotton or muslin bag with drawstring, ribbon tie, or button closure. Wedding favors, party bags, corporate gift packaging, retail gift-with-purchase. Stamped, printed, or custom-dyed.

Breathable cotton garment bag for suits, dresses, and formal wear. Zip or fold-over closure, hanger opening. Cotton twill or muslin. For fashion brands, bridal boutiques, and dry cleaners replacing plastic garment covers.

GOTS-certifiable organic cotton tote in unbleached or dyed. 5oz–10oz. The eco gold standard for brands needing verified sustainability credentials. For eco-positioned retailers, eco brands, and Amazon eco-shoppers.
“Cotton bag” covers dozens of different fabrics. The weave type determines the bag’s drape, structure, printability, and price tier. Choosing the right weave is the first sourcing decision — and the one most first-time buyers get wrong.
Muslin
2–4 oz
Sheer, soft, breathable. For drawstring pouches, dust bags, jewelry packaging, soap wraps, and gift bags. The lightest cotton available. Lowest cost per unit. Not for carry bags — too delicate. Screen-printed or rubber-stamped logos.
Poplin / Twill
4–8 oz
Smooth (poplin) or diagonal-weave (twill). For shopping totes, dust bags, garment covers, and drawstring backpacks. Good print surface, moderate durability. The everyday cotton shopper weight. Machine-washable.
Canvas
8–18 oz
Heavy plain-weave cotton for structured totes, backpacks, crossbodies, and duffles. The most versatile cotton for carry bags. See our dedicated canvas bag page for full specifications.
Denim
8–14 oz
Cotton denim in indigo, black, or washed finishes. For fashion totes, crossbodies, and backpacks. Heritage/workwear aesthetic. Enzyme-washed or stone-washed finishing available. Premium positioning without leather cost.

Cotton packaging — drawstring pouches, dust bags, garment covers, and gift wrapping — is the product category where cotton’s softness, natural texture, and tactile quality matter most. The bag touches the product directly, and the feel of the fabric communicates brand quality before the product is even seen.
This is a different sourcing decision from carry bags: packaging cotton is lighter (2–6oz), softer, and specified by hand feel rather than durability. We produce millions of cotton packaging units annually for handbag brands, jewelry companies, cosmetics labels, and premium e-commerce.
Drawstring Pouch
Muslin (2–3oz) or cotton twill (4–6oz), single or double drawstring, cotton cord or satin ribbon. Sizes from 5×7cm (jewelry) to 30×40cm (handbag). Screen-printed, rubber-stamped, or embroidered logo.
Dust Bag
Cotton twill (4–6oz) or cotton flannel (5–7oz), drawstring closure, branded logo. Sized to fit the product: shoes, handbags, wallets, sunglasses, electronics. Flannel for softest hand feel; twill for durability.
Garment Cover
Cotton twill (4–6oz) or muslin, full-length zip or fold-over, hanger opening at top. Breathable (unlike plastic garment bags). For suits, dresses, coats, bridal gowns. Branded with screen print or embroidery.
Gift Bag
Muslin or cotton calico, drawstring or ribbon tie or button closure. For wedding favors, party bags, corporate gifts, retail gift-with-purchase. Custom stamp, print, or dye. Sizes from 8×10cm to 25×35cm.
Color Options
Natural ecru (unbleached), bleached white, Pantone-dyed, pigment-dyed, garment-dyed. Unbleached/natural is the most popular for eco-positioning. Dyed for brand-color matching. Pantone matching on orders of 1,000+ pcs.
Branding Methods
Screen print (1–4 colors), rubber stamp (1 color, artisan look), embroidery (premium), foil stamp (metallic gold/silver), heat transfer. Rubber stamp is trending for artisan and handmade brand positioning.

Pre-Shipment Inspection
Cotton bags face fabric-specific QC risks — weave inconsistency, dye-lot color drift, print adhesion on natural fiber, drawstring cord pull-through, and shrinkage after washing. Our 6-stage QC targets each one. Third-party inspections (SGS, BV, TUV) welcome.

Weave type, weight (oz/GSM), color match, and surface defects verified. Organic cotton certification documents checked. Dye-lot consistency tested across rolls. Shrinkage rate confirmed on pre-wash sample.

PPS delivered in 5–7 days with finished printing/embroidery on final production cotton. Mass production starts only after your written sign-off on fabric weight, color, print quality, and drawstring function.

Print position, color accuracy (Pantone match), ink adhesion, and edge definition checked on every print run. Embroidery stitch density verified. Foil stamp adhesion tested. Rubber stamp clarity checked.

Seam strength, drawstring channel width, cord retention, and handle attachment verified. Gusset alignment and closure function checked. Grain direction confirmed on pattern pieces to minimize shrinkage distortion.

Every finished cotton bag inspected one by one — fabric surface, print quality, drawstring function, seam finish, label placement. Not sampled, not skipped.

Flat-packed, bundled, or individually polybag-packed per spec. Container loading photos and videos sent within 24 hours. Carton counts and shipping marks documented.

Straight answers to the questions bulk-order buyers ask most often about custom cotton bag production.
Canvas is a specific heavy-weave cotton fabric (typically 8–18oz). “Cotton bag” covers the full family of cotton textiles — from ultra-light muslin (2oz) through poplin and twill (4–8oz) to heavy canvas and denim. Our canvas bag page covers the 8oz+ weight range in detail. This page covers all cotton weaves including the lighter weights used for packaging, dust bags, and shoppers.
Cotton bags — especially lightweight products like muslin pouches, dust bags, and drawstring bags — have among the lowest MOQs in the bag industry due to simple construction and widely available material. Heavier cotton carry bags and organic cotton have slightly higher MOQs. Contact us with your product and quantity for a specific confirmation.
Yes. We source organic cotton that is GOTS-certifiable (Global Organic Textile Standard). Available in unbleached (natural ecru), bleached white, and custom-dyed colors. Flag your specific certification requirements during quoting — we’ll source the right fabric and provide documentation.
Yes — cotton dust bags are one of our highest-volume products. We produce in cotton twill, muslin, and flannel with drawstring closure and branded logo (screen print, embroidery, or foil stamp). Sizes from small (wallets, sunglasses) to large (handbags, shoes). Pantone color dyeing available.
Yes. Standard cotton bags are machine-washable (cold/warm, gentle cycle). Expect 3–5% shrinkage on first wash with untreated cotton — we can pre-shrink fabric at production to minimize this. Screen-printed bags should be washed inside-out. Foil-stamped bags are spot-clean only.
Yes. Untreated, undyed cotton is fully biodegradable and compostable. Dyed and printed cotton is biodegradable but may take longer depending on inks and dyes used. Cotton’s genuine end-of-life compostability is a stronger environmental claim than “recyclable.”
Yes. FNSKU labeling, Amazon-compliant polybag packaging, and carton labeling handled at our Guangzhou factory. Direct to FBA warehouses in the US, EU, UK, and other markets.
Yes. European Industrial Park, Shiling Town, Huadu District, Guangzhou. Monday–Saturday. Video tours available for remote buyers.
