RFID shielding is not just a product feature — it’s a listing keyword, a retail-price justifier, and a visual differentiator that customers can physically verify.

“RFID blocking” is a high-search-volume keyword on Amazon for wallets, crossbodies, and travel accessories. Adding this feature makes your product discoverable in a search category you’d otherwise miss entirely.

The shielding layer adds $0.30–$0.80 to FOB. Brands mark this up to a $3–$8 retail premium. That’s a 5–10× return. Customers perceive RFID blocking as a “premium security feature” — it raises perceived value far more than its cost.

Gives you an extra listing image — a callout graphic showing the shielded pocket, a “How It Works” infographic, or a security badge. These visual elements fill image slots and improve click-through rate on marketplace pages.

Unlike vague claims (“premium quality”), RFID blocking is physically TESTABLE. The customer can hold a contactless card inside the pocket and try to tap-pay. If it doesn’t read, the feature works. That’s a feature that sells itself and reduces return risk.

The shielding layer is 0.1mm thin, weighs 5–15g, and is invisible. A minimalist bag with RFID shielding still looks and feels minimalist. No bulk, no stiffness, no external indicators unless you CHOOSE to market it.
RFID shielding works best in bags where customers routinely carry contactless cards and travel documents. We add shielded pockets to any of these fashion bag formats.

The highest-demand RFID format. Shielded card slot in front compartment. Ideal for travel and commuting. Adjustable strap, nylon or PU leather. Growing Amazon category.

Passport cover + card slots with full shielding. The single best-selling RFID product category on Amazon. PU leather or nylon. Multiple colors. Compact, low shipping cost per unit.

Shielded internal card pocket in a fashion handbag. PU leather, canvas, or nylon. A premium feature for mid-to-high-end brands positioning security alongside fashion.

Shielded internal zippered pocket within a structured tote. Protects cards while the tote remains open-top for easy access. Great for commuter totes and shopping totes.

Shielded front slip pocket or internal zippered pocket in a shoulder bag. Worn close to the body — natural fit for anti-theft positioning. PU leather or nylon. Popular format for fashion brands targeting the urban female commuter market.

Shielded internal card pocket inside a drawstring or magnetic bucket bag. The open-top silhouette makes an RFID pocket especially valuable — cards stay protected even when the bag is unclasped. PU leather or canvas.
Not every bag needs full-body shielding — in fact, shielding the entire bag blocks your customer’s PHONE signal too, which is frustrating. We offer three integration levels. Most brands choose Level 1 or 2.
Level 1: Pocket Shield
1–2 Pockets · Recommended
Level 2: Compartment Shield
Full Section · Premium
An entire bag compartment lined with RFID fabric — not just one pocket. Cards, passports, and ID badges anywhere in that section are protected. +$0.50–$0.80 FOB. For premium anti-theft backpacks and high-end handbags where the brand wants “RFID-protected zone” as a headline feature.
Level 3: Full-Bag Shield
Entire Lining · Rare
The entire bag interior is lined with shielding fabric. Blocks ALL wireless signals — including phone cellular, WiFi, and Bluetooth. This means your customer’s phone won’t ring, GPS won’t track, and Bluetooth earbuds will disconnect. +$2–$4 FOB. Only suitable for specialized security pouches — NOT for everyday fashion bags.

The shielding layer is sewn between two fabric layers during the lining construction phase — not added as an afterthought. This “sandwich” method ensures the metallic-fiber fabric is fully enclosed, invisible, and protected from wear.
The shielding fabric is a woven or non-woven textile with nickel-copper or silver-fiber blend threads. It’s flexible (not rigid), approximately 0.1–0.15mm thin, and compatible with all standard sewing techniques. It doesn’t require special machines or separate production lines — our existing lining construction process handles it.
Shielding Material
Nickel-copper or silver-fiber woven/non-woven fabric, 0.1–0.15mm
Signal Blocked
13.56 MHz (NFC — contactless payment, e-passport, access cards)
NOT Blocked
Cellular, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS (different frequency bands)
Weight Added
5–15g per pocket — undetectable by end user
QC Test
Contactless card reader test — card placed in shielded pocket, reader held against exterior. Pass = no read.
Durability
Metallic fibers woven into textile — no degradation with normal use, folding, or moderate handling
The RFID shielding is ONE feature — everything else about the bag is fully customizable to your brand spec.
Free Add-on: Professional Product Photography Included
Free white-background product photos for your online shop, Amazon listings, and wholesale catalogs — no additional charge on production orders.

Standing shoulder-to-shoulder with strangers = easy proximity for a handheld reader. A shielded card pocket in a commuter backpack or work tote provides passive protection during the daily commute.

Crowded outdoor events with card-only payment = both high-use of contactless AND high proximity to strangers. RFID-blocking fanny packs and crossbodies are a natural fit for this market.

FY Bag Custom operates its own vertically integrated factory in Guangzhou, Guangdong — RFID shielding integration uses our existing lining construction workflow — no separate production line needed. The same team that sews your standard lining handles the RFID sandwich layer. This means no price premium from specialized machinery and no capacity limitation from dedicated equipment.
We produce 50,000+ bags per month across 10+ sewing lines. QC includes a dedicated RFID verification step: a contactless card reader test on shielded pockets before packing. Bags that fail the reader test are reworked and re-tested before shipping.

Pre-Shipment Inspection
RFID shielding is integrated during the standard lining construction phase — it doesn’t add a separate production stage. Here’s how an RFID-blocking bag moves through our factory.

RFID pocket position defined in the tech pack. Pattern maker marks which pocket panels receive the shielding layer. The RFID fabric is cut to match the pocket panel dimensions — sized to cover the full pocket interior with 10mm overlap on all seam edges.

RFID shielding fabric sandwiched between the pocket lining panel and the pocket facing. Sewn as a single unit — the shielding layer is fully enclosed, with no exposed metallic surface. Standard sewing machine, no special equipment needed.

Dedicated RFID verification: a contactless card is placed inside the shielded pocket and a reader is held against the exterior. Pass = no read (card is blocked). Fail = rework the pocket. Combined with standard 100% visual and function inspection — stitching, hardware, color, dimensions.

Branded packaging (polybag, hang tag, insert card). Carton labeling. Optional: “RFID Protected” woven label or embossed tag on the shielded pocket for end-customer visibility. FBA prep available. Pre-shipment photos sent to client.
RFID-blocking bags follow the same production timeline as standard bags — the shielding layer adds no extra lead time. Sample in 5–7 days, bulk production in 15–25 days.

+$0.30–$0.50 for 1–2 pocket shielding (recommended). +$0.50–$0.80 for full-compartment shielding. +$2–$4 for full-bag lining (not recommended for fashion bags). We quote the exact cost per your design based on shielded area.
13.56 MHz — the frequency used by NFC contactless payment cards (Visa payWave, Mastercard PayPass), e-passports, and building access cards (HID, MIFARE). It does NOT block cellular, WiFi, Bluetooth, or GPS — those are different frequency bands.
Yes — any bag with a card pocket. Most common: crossbodies, backpacks, wallets/passport covers, bum bags, handbags, totes, clutches. Integrated at the pattern-making stage.
No. The shielding fabric is 0.1–0.15mm thin and weighs 5–15g per pocket. It doesn’t change the bag’s drape, hand-feel, or silhouette. A minimalist bag with RFID shielding still looks and feels minimalist. Invisible to the end user.
No. Industrial ESD bags protect electronic components from electrostatic discharge during manufacturing. Our RFID-blocking bags are fashion bags — handbags, crossbodies, wallets — with a card-security feature. We’re a fashion bag manufacturer, not an electronics packaging company.
Same as standard: 200–500 pcs per style/color depending on complexity. RFID feature doesn’t change the minimum — it’s a lining material substitution, not a separate production process. Samples available first.
Yes. European Industrial Park, Shiling Town, Huadu District, Guangzhou. Monday–Saturday. Video tours available for remote buyers.
