Our straw and woven bag production serves buyers driven by resort fashion, seasonal retail, artisan positioning, and the expanding “woven bag beyond beach” trend.

No canvas, nylon, or cotton bag communicates “summer, beach, vacation” as powerfully as straw. The woven texture, natural color, and handcraft heritage own the resort-fashion category. Five features define straw bags’ unique position.

Straw bags are the single most recognizable summer accessory in fashion. The material itself communicates beach, vacation, and resort — instantly, without needing a label or a lifestyle campaign. Straw bags ARE summer.

Raffia, seagrass, water hyacinth, rattan, paper straw, wheat straw, palm leaf, bamboo — each fiber has a different texture, color, durability, and price. More natural-fiber variety than any other bag category.

80%+ of annual demand concentrates in March–August. The most extreme seasonality of any bag fabric. Buyers who miss the January–February production window miss the entire selling season.

The “woven bag” trend has expanded straw from beach-only into everyday fashion. Structured straw totes, straw crossbodies, and straw bucket bags are now worn year-round in warm climates and as urban fashion statements.
From oversized raffia beach totes to structured rattan crossbodies, we manufacture across every straw and woven bag format — resort, fashion, home, and seasonal styles.

Rigid rattan or wicker crossbody with leather strap. Circular (Bali bag), half-moon, or rectangular shapes. The Instagram-famous format that launched the “woven bag beyond beach” trend.

Flat or fold-over raffia clutch with zip or magnetic closure. Embroidered, pom-pom trimmed, or tassel-accented. The summer evening accessory. Gift-box packaging for resort retail and Amazon gifting.

Woven straw or raffia bucket bag with leather drawstring trim and crossbody strap. The casual resort silhouette. For fashion and lifestyle brands targeting the “effortless summer” aesthetic.

Machine-woven twisted kraft paper “straw” in any bag format. The budget tier: straw aesthetic at promotional and fast-fashion price points. The material that makes a $5 straw tote possible. For high-volume seasonal and promotional programs.

Hand-woven seagrass tote or basket with leather handles. Doubles as a beach bag, market bag, and home storage basket. The crossover format that serves both fashion and home-décor buyers.

Woven raffia or straw shoulder bag with single leather or chain strap. Flap or open-top closure. The structured “beyond beach” format for year-round fashion in warm climates.

Matched straw hat and straw tote set in coordinated weave and color. Gift-box packaging. The resort retail and holiday gift-set format. For resort merchandise, Amazon summer gifting, and department store summer promotions.
Not all “straw” is the same. Each fiber has different texture, durability, cost, and weaving method. The fiber you choose determines the bag’s look, feel, price tier, and target buyer. This is the most important straw-bag sourcing decision.
Raffia
Palm Leaf Fiber
Soft, flexible palm-leaf fiber. Hand-crocheted or woven. The most fashion-forward straw material — used by major designer brands. Natural tan or dyed to any color. The #1 fiber for fashion straw bags. Retail: $25–80+.
Seagrass
Aquatic Plant
Tightly woven aquatic grass. Natural green-to-tan color, smooth texture. Used for basket bags and home storage. The crossover material that serves both fashion and home-décor markets. Retail: $15–45.
Rattan
Palm Stem
Hard, woody palm stem. The most rigid straw material — creates structured crossbodies, round “Bali bags,” and box shapes. Natural or stained. The Instagram-famous woven bag material. Retail: $20–60.
Paper Straw
Twisted Kraft
Machine-woven twisted kraft paper. The lowest-cost “straw” material — enables straw aesthetic at fast-fashion and promotional prices. Bleached, dyed, or printed. Not as durable as natural fibers. Retail: $5–18.

Straw bags are combination products — the woven body always needs structural support from handles, lining, trim, or closures in a different material. Pure straw-only bags without any reinforcement are fragile and limited to simple pouches. We engineer the straw-to-trim combination at sampling.
Lead times for straw bags are longer than for fabric bags because woven bodies are sourced from specialized weaving workshops (hand-woven or semi-hand-woven) before assembly at our factory. We recommend ordering 3–4 months ahead of your selling season to secure woven body supply.
Handle Options
Leather handles (PU or genuine, the #1 choice), bamboo handles, rope handles, chain handles, self-straw handles, tortoiseshell acrylic handles. Handle material is the strongest price-tier signal on a straw bag.
Lining
Cotton drawstring lining (most popular), polyester lining, canvas lining, unlined (simple baskets). Cotton drawstring insert provides closure security and interior smoothness. Branded printed lining available.
Closure Types
Cotton drawstring insert (most popular for totes), magnetic snap, leather flap, zip-top, button + loop, ribbon tie, open-top. Drawstring insert is the standard because it adds both closure and interior lining in one component.
Trim & Accent
Leather trim/piping, pom-pom accents, tassel embellishments, embroidered motifs, ribbon weaving, shell/bead accents, branded metal tags. Trim creates brand personality on the neutral straw base.
Weave Patterns
Plain weave, herringbone, chevron, spiral, open-lattice, crochet (raffia), basket weave. Pattern is determined by fiber type and weaving technique. Raffia supports the widest pattern range; rattan is typically plain or spiral.
Color & Finish
Natural (undyed — the most popular), bleached, dyed (any color — most common on raffia and paper straw), two-tone color-block weave, spray-painted accents. Natural undyed is the default summer straw aesthetic.
Every straw bag leaves our Guangzhou factory fully customized. We source woven bodies from specialized weaving workshops, then assemble with handles, lining, trim, and branding in-house. Sample turnaround in 7–10 days (longer than fabric bags due to woven body sourcing).
Seasonal Timing Advisory: Order by January for Spring Delivery
Straw bags have the most compressed seasonal demand of any bag fabric. Order by January–February for March–April delivery to capture the full spring/summer selling window. Late orders risk missing woven body supply and the entire selling season.

Free white-background product photos for your online shop, Amazon listings, and wholesale catalogs — no additional charge on production orders.
Straw bags involve more fiber diversity and handcraft than any other bag category. We source from 200+ verified suppliers across multiple natural-fiber origins.

Straw bag production is a two-stage process: woven bodies are sourced from specialized weaving workshops (hand-woven or semi-hand-woven), then shipped to our Guangzhou factory for assembly — handle attachment, lining insertion, trim, branding, and QC. We manage the entire supply chain from fiber sourcing to finished product.
Our straw bag assembly shares leather handle sourcing, lining sewing, and hardware attachment capability with our tote, bucket bag, and crossbody production lines.

Pre-Shipment Inspection
Straw bags face unique QC risks — weave density inconsistency (hand-woven variation), fiber breakage, handle attachment failure at straw-to-leather junction, natural-color shade variation between batches, and mold risk from improperly dried fibers. Our 6-stage QC targets each one. Third-party inspections welcome.

Weave density, fiber quality, shape consistency, and color shade verified across the batch. Mold and moisture checked (straw must be fully dried before assembly). Broken or loose fibers flagged and repaired before assembly.

PPS delivered in 7–10 days with final woven body, handles, lining, and trim. Mass production starts only after your written sign-off on weave quality, shape, handle attachment, and branding.

Leather handle rivet or stitch attachment strength tested. Handle-to-straw junction reinforced (the highest-stress point on any straw bag). Trim, pom-pom, and embellishment placement verified against template.

Cotton drawstring lining insertion verified. Drawstring closure function tested. Magnetic snap or flap closure strength checked. Interior pocket placement confirmed. Branded lining print inspected.

Every finished straw bag inspected one by one — weave quality, shape, handle, trim, lining, closure, label placement. Natural-fiber variation is noted but not rejected; structural defects and broken weave are rejected.

Individually polybag-packed or tissue-wrapped (straw bags are crush-sensitive — packing density is lower than fabric bags). Container loading photos and videos sent within 24 hours.

Straight answers to the questions bulk-order buyers ask most often about custom straw bag production.
Raffia for fashion/premium bags ($25–80+ retail). Seagrass for boho/home-crossover ($15–45). Rattan for structured crossbodies and the “Bali bag” look ($20–60). Paper straw for budget/promotional/fast-fashion ($5–18). We’ll recommend the right fiber based on your product, price tier, and target market.
Longer than fabric bags. Sampling: 7–10 days (vs. 5–7 for fabric). Bulk: 30–45 days (vs. 20–30 for fabric). The additional time comes from woven body sourcing — hand-woven or semi-hand-woven straw bodies take longer than machine-cut fabric. We recommend ordering 3–4 months ahead of your selling season.
No. Visible weave variations are inherent to hand-woven and semi-hand-woven natural fibers. They signal authentic craftsmanship and are considered features, not defects, by the market. Structural defects (broken weave, loose fibers, misshapen bodies) ARE rejected during QC. We distinguish between “artisan character” and “quality failure.”
Natural straw fibers can develop mold if stored in damp, unventilated conditions. We verify that all woven bodies are fully dried before assembly, and we check for mold and moisture during incoming inspection. We recommend buyers store straw bag inventory in dry, ventilated conditions.
MOQ depends on fiber type and weaving complexity. Paper straw bags (machine-woven) have the lowest MOQs. Raffia crochet and rattan bags have higher MOQs due to handcraft labor. We welcome test-order quantities for new seasonal programs. Contact us with your product and quantity for a specific confirmation.
For March retail floor sets: order by November–December, production January–February, ship February–March. For Amazon FBA spring activation: order by January, ship by late February. Straw bags have the most compressed seasonal window of any bag fabric — early ordering is critical.
