Polyester produces more bag units globally than nylon, canvas, cotton, and leather combined. Five advantages make it the industry’s default fabric.
Denier Range
210D to 1680D — the widest denier range of any synthetic bag fabric. Each denier tier serves a different product, from 210D promotional drawstrings to 1680D ballistic travel bags. One material family covers every durability tier.
Sublimation Printing
Polyester is the only major bag fabric that accepts sublimation printing — full-color, edge-to-edge, permanent, wash-resistant. All-over-print designs and photo-quality graphics at scale that no other fabric can match.
RPET Recycled
Recycled polyester made from post-consumer PET bottles — “made from recycled plastic bottles” is a tangible sustainability story. RPET has identical performance to virgin polyester at 10–20% cost premium.

Polyester Denier Guide: Match D to Product & Price
Denier (D) measures yarn thickness and directly determines a polyester bag’s durability, weight, hand feel, and cost. Choosing the right denier is the first sourcing decision — and the spec that experienced buyers ask about before anything else.
210–300D
Lightweight
Lightweight Polyester
Thin, foldable, lowest cost. For promotional drawstring bags, event giveaways, and foldable shopper bags. Flat-packs at extreme density. Retail: $1–5. Volume: 5,000–100,000+ pcs. The highest-unit promotional bag tier.
420–600D
Standard
Standard Polyester
The industry sweet spot. Good durability, moderate weight, excellent print surface. For backpacks, lunch bags, crossbodies, diaper bags, pet carriers. The #1 denier range for Amazon FBA polyester bags. Retail: $8–30.
900–1200D
Heavy-Duty
Heavy-Duty Polyester
Thick, abrasion-resistant, structured. For gym duffles, travel bags, tool bags, and gear bags. PU-coated standard. For sportswear brands, outdoor companies, and corporate travel gear. Retail: $25–60.

Ballistic Polyester
Maximum durability — the heaviest polyester denier available. For premium luggage, professional equipment bags, and military-grade gear. PU-coated with reinforced stress points. Retail: $45–120+. The polyester alternative to 1680D nylon.
Sublimation, Coating & RPET Specs
Polyester’s three technical advantages over other fabrics — sublimation printing, water-resistant coating, and recycled RPET availability — are the specs that separate polyester from nylon and canvas in procurement decisions. We engineer all three at the sampling stage.
Sublimation printing is exclusive to polyester (it doesn’t work on nylon or cotton). PU coating is cheaper and more durable on polyester than on canvas. And RPET recycled polyester is the most commercially available recycled bag fabric in the world.
Sublimation Print
Full-color CMYK, edge-to-edge, unlimited colors, photo-quality. Sublimation dye bonds permanently into polyester fiber — wash-resistant, no cracking or peeling. Works on white or light-colored polyester only. The #1 reason brands choose polyester over nylon for printed bags.
Screen Print
1–6 spot colors, highest durability, lowest per-unit cost at volume. Works on all polyester deniers and colors. The standard method for single-logo promotional and branded bags. We recommend screen print as the default for orders over 500 pcs.
PU Coating
Polyurethane coating on the back face — creates water-resistant barrier. Standard on 600D+ polyester for backpacks, gym bags, and travel bags. Measured in mm (0.3mm–1.0mm). PU-coated polyester is the lowest-cost water-resistant bag construction available.
PVC Coating
PVC backing for maximum water resistance and rigidity. Heavier than PU, more rigid. Used on 900D+ polyester for heavy-duty bags. Faces EU REACH restrictions — PU coating recommended for EU-market products.
RPET Recycled
Recycled polyester from post-consumer PET bottles. Identical performance to virgin polyester. Available in 300D, 600D, and 900D. 10–20% cost premium over virgin. GRS (Global Recycled Standard) certifiable on request. The most tangible “made from recycled plastic bottles” story.
Weave Variants
Plain weave (standard), twill weave, ripstop (grid pattern for tear resistance), dobby, jacquard (woven pattern), honeycomb, waffle. Ripstop is standard for lightweight outdoor bags. Jacquard for branded all-over woven patterns.

Polyester bags face fabric-specific QC risks — denier weight variance, coating adhesion failure, sublimation color shift, zipper failure under load, and seam slippage on coated fabrics. Our 6-stage QC targets each one. Third-party inspections (SGS, BV, TUV) welcome.
Incoming Polyester Inspection
Denier weight (GSM), weave type, coating thickness, and color match verified against approved swatches. RPET certification documents checked. Sublimation test print run for color accuracy on production fabric batch.
Pre-Production Sample Approval
PPS delivered in 5–7 days with final printing, coating, and hardware. Mass production starts only after your written sign-off on fabric weight, color, print quality, and construction.
Print & Coating Checkpoints
Sublimation color accuracy and registration verified piece by piece on first 50 units. Screen print adhesion tested. Coating adhesion spot-checked. Water-resistance tested on coated fabrics by surface drip test.
Sewing & Hardware Testing
Seam strength and slippage tested — coated polyester requires different sewing tension than uncoated. Zipper pull-tested. Buckle cycle-tested. Strap anchor points load-tested. Padding compression checked.
100% Final Inspection
Every finished polyester bag inspected one by one — fabric surface, print quality, coating integrity, zipper function, hardware, strap attachment, lining, label placement. Not sampled, not skipped.
Packing & Loading Supervision
Individually polybag-packed or flat-packed per spec. Container loading photos and videos sent within 24 hours. Carton counts, seal numbers, and shipping marks documented.
