PVC and TPU look similar but differ in environmental profile, regulatory compliance, flexibility, and cost. Choosing the right material for your market is the first sourcing decision. Here’s the side-by-side comparison procurement buyers need.

Semi-transparent frosted finish — not fully clear like PVC/TPU. Softer hand feel, matte aesthetic. Common in fashion cosmetic bags and frosted shopping bags. PVC-free. Lower transparency but premium tactile quality for fashion and beauty brands.
Clear Bag Compliance & Construction
Clear bag production requires different construction methods from fabric bags — heat welding replaces stitching, gauge thickness replaces GSM, and dimensional compliance replaces aesthetic proportion. We engineer gauge, seam type, and trim attachment at sampling to match your target compliance standard and price tier.
Stadium compliance dimensions vary by venue and league — we verify dimensions at sampling and can produce multiple size variants in a single production run to cover different venue requirements.
Material Gauge
PVC: 0.2mm–0.8mm (8–32 gauge). TPU: 0.15mm–0.5mm. Thicker gauge = more rigid, more durable, higher cost. 0.3mm is the sweet spot for most stadium totes and crossbodies. 0.5mm+ for structured shopping bags.
Seam Construction
RF (radio frequency) welding — strongest, cleanest seam for PVC. Hot-air welding — standard for TPU. Stitched + bound — for fabric-trimmed designs. Welded seams create waterproof bonds; stitched seams require binding tape for finished appearance.
Stadium Sizing
NFL standard: 12″ × 6″ × 12″ (30 × 15 × 30cm). NCAA and concert venues vary. We verify dimensions at sampling. Small clear clutches (4.5″ × 6.5″) also commonly permitted. We produce both tote and clutch compliance formats.
Trim Materials
Nylon, polyester, canvas, PU leather, webbing — used for edges, handles, straps, piping, and branding panels. Trim color is the primary branding and price-tier signal on clear bags.
Finish Variants
Crystal clear, tinted (pink, blue, smoke, amber), frosted matte, holographic/iridescent, neon, glitter-infused. Tinted and holographic variants drive the fashion/festival market beyond compliance.
Regulatory Notes
PVC: may require phthalate-free certification for EU (REACH) and California (Prop 65). TPU: inherently PVC-free and phthalate-free — no additional certification needed for most markets. Flag specific regulatory requirements during quoting.

FY Bag Custom operates its own vertically integrated factory in Guangzhou — design, sampling, PVC/TPU cutting, RF welding, sewing, printing, and QC all under one roof. Clear-bag production requires specialized equipment (RF welding machines, PVC cutting dies) and material handling (PVC/TPU sheets damage differently from fabric rolls) that we manage in-house.
Our clear-bag production line shares facilities with our fabric bag lines, which means we produce hybrid designs — clear PVC/TPU bodies with canvas, nylon, or PU leather trim — as a single integrated production run.

Incoming Material Inspection

Pre-Production Sample Approval
